We're glad to have you.
Durant and I have talked many times about the direction of this story in general, but it is the individual stories that are taking place in this backdrop that make it amazing. We are glad to have more "layers to the onion" as we refer to it. This has stopped being a story about Marines and started becoming a story about people.
I, for one, and quite excited about where these stories will go.

Well, if we're doing "how I got here" stories, I happened to stumble across this from an ad on another board. It had the right feel of a military RP and I decided to stay around. Slowly I've been roped in volunteered more of my time till I am here as you see me. Davis was my first character and Flannigan was my "let help tell the story" character and admin account.
Honestly, I was with Durant on the feeling that this was such a niche RP we would never amount to much more than three or four of us just telling stories. I'm happy that isn't the case, even if it makes more work for us.

I forget how I arrived here, I assumed I came in riding in a bionic unicorn that spoke with a Russian accent and gave tea to everyone

I want to go on record that anyone who buys flowers from White's Nursery & Greenhouse (where I work) needs to just... Buy them elsewhere.
The next week or so is going to be so hectic for me. I've been moved to Internet Sales & Shipping, where we handle all the packaging and shipping of plants ordered from the company via the internet, and Mother's Day marks the end of our holiday season -- and the craziest damn holiday for our company. I thought Easter was bad, but now I know it pales in comparison to Mother's Day. I've never been big on the holiday for a variety of reasons, but now, as I work ten to twelve hour shifts doing nothing but mind-numbing work at a ridiculously fast pace, I have discovered it is literally the bane of my existence.
Moral of the story today folks is this: don't buy flowers for your mother. Take her to dinner, grill out with the family, go on a fishing trip, but do not buy flowers.
Unless you actually go to the store and buy them.
That is acceptable.
As is to be expected with my increased work load at... Well... Work... I will be on less frequently for the duration of the next week. I will attempt to post as often as I can, but I can't make many guarantees. Flannigan has the right to move things forward as necessary to keep the ball rolling. New people, that goes mostly for you.
For the threads where my involvement is crucial to keep things moving forward, just be patient and hang in there. I will post as soon as humanly possible. It might not be as quick as you'd like, but it'll get done. Rest assured.
I can't wait for Mother's Day to come and go.

Hope the work goes as smoothly as possible Durant and you don't turn into some kind of Human Flower Hybrid.

Ok, story time. Torngate's post reminded me of my own experience with field stripping pistols during my train up for deployment.
So, there we were at Fort Bliss Texas in the middle of August, living in giant flipping tents. We were all issued an M9 pistol, something usually reserved for officers. (Yes, despite my stellar abilities here, I was just a typical grunt in the army.) So, we all started working hard to learn our new weapon and field stripping happened a lot during down time. It's an easy strip and I can even do it now in my sleep. Push back the slide, push the release button, flip the release lever, pull the slide off, remove the buffer and buffer spring. Goes together in reverse, simple right?
So, as enlistedmen are wont to do, it devovled from practice to races. Pistol starts on the table in front of you, each participant has a judge watching. When go is called, you field strip it, all pieces are on the table with your hands back on the table, you're cleared, you reassemble. It was great until someone missed the catch on their buffer spring assembly and it shot a hundred feet across the tent. Everyone just froze and looked at each other.
The NCOs "strongly suggested" we stop our races.

I am updating everyone's CSVs due to the time skip, as well as editing the platoon roster. Many of you will be receiving new billets and promotions. I will advise you all when I am finished with the edits.
