The NCO Creed
The Marine NCO is the stuff of legend. Tales of their exploits in combat throughout history are commonly told and revered. The Marine NCO Corps is the backbone of the Marine Corps; without it, the Marine Corps simply could not function.
The Creed of the Marine NCO is a Corporal or Sergeant's word and bound. It is short, succinct, and to the point.
The Marine NCO Creed is:
"I am an NCO, dedicated to training new Marines and influencing the old. I am forever conscious of each Marine under my charge, and by example will inspire them to the highest standards possible. I will strive to be patient, understanding, just, and firm. I will commend the deserving and encourage the wayward.
I will never forget that I am responsible to my Commanding Officer for the morale, discipline, and efficiency of my Marines. Their performance will reflect an image of me."
