HALO: OSCAR COMPANY
ROLE-PLAYING GAME
We, the Staff of Halo: Oscar Company, welcome you to our role-playing game! Listed below are the rules, listed by category, that govern over our site. We understand that having to sift through a bunch of rules can be a bit tedious (trust us, we've been there), and even boring for some; however, in order to create a character here you must be familiar with them. So, in short, reading the rules is a necessary evil.

So without further ado, here are the rules for Oscar Company RPG:
General Rules
Respect. Respect is an integral part of being a member of this site. No one likes to be mistreated or bullied, and we have an absolute zero tolerance policy to any behavior that is malicious, vindictive, or spiteful of others. Please respect all members and guests, and most of all, act your age.
Site Rating. Due to the standards set forth by the ProBoards Terms of Service, this site's content will be rated PG-13. Because this is an RPG based on war, the violence will be a tad graphic and on the realistic side, even if this is a Halo RP. Rest assured, it won't be too gruesome to read, however. As for instances of romance that may take place within the RP, anything that may turn sexual or overly explicit needs to be handled via a "fade to black" moment.
Language. Cursing is allowed here as a general forewarning, but if it becomes too excessive, we will step in and do something about it. For the most part you're free to say what you want, but there are limitations.
Absenteeism. If you're going to be absent for awhile, we respectfully ask that you let us know. If we do not hear from you or see you online for awhile, attempts to contact you will be made. If we still cannot get in touch with you, eventually your account will be deleted and your character added to the chopping block. We do not NPC characters indefinitely.
Role-Play Rules
Post Length. We ask that your in character posts be made up of four paragraphs at the least (dialogue not included), which is the equivalent of roughly 130 - 200 words. However, we do encourage more and welcome posts that far surpass this standard.
Character Limits. We don't have them. You can have as my characters as you'd like so long as you can keep up with them. Each character must have their account and the display names of each account should be the last name and first name initial of the character. Ex. "Durant, M."
Activity Checks. Periodically we hold activity checks. These are posted in the Announcements board generally every few months to make sure all members are present and accounted for. It is mandatory for members to respond to an activity check. Failure to do so will result in the Staff assuming you are inactive. We will attempt to make contact with you. If you do not respond, we assume you've left and do not intend upon returning.
Separation of Character & Self. While we'd like to say it goes without saying, we're going to say it anyway; please maintain a wall of separation between yourself and your character. Actions taken against your character do not translate into personal attacks against you. If your character happens to become greviously injured, or dies, we ask that you don't take it personally and create a new character (if necessary). Additionally, don't use information that you possess out of character that your character wouldn't normally possess.
Copyright. If you do not have the express permission to use another person's character, whether from this RPG or somewhere else, then don't use the character and claim them as your own. If we catch wind that you have stolen someone else's work, you will be insta-banned. We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy when it comes to using others work without permission.
