Yes, folks. It's that time again. Don't fret, however, because there aren't really that many rules regarding character creation, and they're mostly common sense.
So, lo and behold, the rules for character creation:
So, lo and behold, the rules for character creation:
Mary Sues/Gary Stews. In case you're confused as to what that actually means, it's referring to your stereotypical, cookie cutter characters. Cardboard cut-out action heroes. We want to see thought put into the characters you create. We'd like them to seem like living, breathing people and not some stereotypical macho man toting a machine gun (examples being Rambo, the cast of Predator, and all the characters in the DOOM movie). So, please: no Gary Stews or Mary Sues.
Character Names. The names of your character must be real. M4573r ch33f or That Cool Guy are not acceptable names. Also, please take into account the nationality and background of your character when coming up with a name. On the actual application, first and last names are required. Middle names are optional, but we always enjoy seeing them.
Be Realistic. Not everyone is a Billy Badass. Your character won't be good at everything. Soaking up six magazines worth of ammo while charging across an open field screaming at the top of your lungs just isn't realistic. When creating your character, take care to think of what he/she is good at, and not so good at. Everyone has strengthes and weaknesses, and everyone can die from a bullet (or plasma).
Correlation of Age & Rank. Your rank must match your character. A sixty year old or a sixteen year old lieutenant do not exist. Granted, a sixty year old private is possible if they were to continually be demoted over the course of their career, but it'd be especially rare. And in case you're wondering, the legal age of enlistment for the UNSC is sixteen years old. But be advised: sixteen year olds would either have to have graduated early, dropped out, or been kicked out of school to be able to enlist.
That's all. Your next step is to post an application. Check out the Application Template and have fun creating your character.
Play nice, and play fair.
Sincerely,
