Folks,
I will be the first to admit that Oscar Company has fallen far from the perch it was once so solidly sat upon. Activity as of late has been bordering entirely non-existent, and apparently, people are beginning to suspect we are dead. While that pains me to say, it is the truth, and there is no denying it.
However, what you have not been noticing behind the scenes, is that the Staff has come together to mend these issues and set us back on the path to success. Hard times come, yes, but eventually they must pass. We are not a sinking ship, though we did spring a few leaks that we are now working to patch up. So, you must wonder what is being done to keep us from fading off quietly into the sunset, alongside so many other RPGs that have come before us.
Well, first, I want to acknowledge that the inactivity issue of our site first began at the top level - the Staff - and was allowed to fester without recourse. The responsibility there falls solely upon my shoulders and I realize that something should have been done to alleviate the situation long ago. While I bear no ill feelings towards my Co-Administrator, Mr. Cruz, whom could not come online because of his terribly busy schedule in real life, I must announce that he will no longer hold that position.
Cruz will be more than welcome to return and contribute to Oscar Company should his busy schedule become less so. However, until such a time, we are to consider him no longer with us. He shall be dearly missed, as much of what you see here would simply not have been possible without him. His technical expertise was an invaluable asset to the Administration.
However, the show must go on. Now you are probably wondering who will take the mantle of Co-Administrator now that Cruz has been relieved. It is, of course, a very big set of boots to fill, but I feel confident that I have made the right decision in his replacement.
So, without further ado, it is my great pleasure to announce that Rod (better known as Davis / Flannigan), has been chosen to be the new Co-Administrator of the Oscar Company RPG. What this means is that he has now effectively been placed as my right hand man; the second-in-command of this ambitious RPG. He has much in the way of administrative and leadership expertise, and those qualities will be invaluable to the Staff (and the site) as a whole.
And since we are announcing promotions, I would also like to welcome our own Mr. Stringer to the Oscar Company Staff, with his new appointment as a Moderator. Stringer has shown his willingness to be active with us and to continue slogging forward despite whatever problems arise in our journey as a fledgling RPG. I believe he will make an excellent addition to the site's Staff.
Now, for a bit of unfortunate news: Operation: FROST DRAGON will be coming to a close. I know, it's not something I wanted to have happen, but we simply cannot continue with the mission due to our low manpower. So we will be skipping ahead to the end of the mission, with all bands returning to the Vengeance, and we will leave you, the player, the opportunity to flesh out the details of what your characters endured whilst battling the Covenant on the frigid world of Phoenix III. Of course, the major events will be covered by us in our initial posts so that you will not be entirely clueless as to what we intended to have happen, but there will be plenty of room left for you to stretch your creative muscles.
However, while, again, this is disappointing news, we have decided it is for the best so that we can move forward into Downtime and have the opportunity to pick up new members in character without our applicants having to sit and wait for an opportune moment to introduce them into the RP.
To be clear, we are not retconning FROST DRAGON. It happened. Your characters experienced it and lived through it. Now we have returned to the Vengeance for a much needed intermission before embarking on our next adventure. If you have any questions, feel free to ask myself or Flannigan, as we will have answers for you most assuredly.
Anyway, I've rambled enough. I want to thank you all for sticking with us through these troubling times, and again wish to welcome our newest additions to the site Staff. Soon we plan to initiate a recruiting drive and breathe new life into our site. I hope that all of you will remain around to see us move forward once more!
