The Eridanus Insurrection occurred in 2513, starting the far-reaching UNSC anti-terrorism operation codenamed "Operation: TREBUCHET." In the Eridanus System, an organized faction of rebels known as the United Rebel Front, then-led by former UNSC Marine Colonel Robert Watts, initiated a massive uprising that spread across the entire system.
The UNSC Navy and Marines deployed to the system en masse to quell the uprising and restore order to the system. The bulk of military operations occurred on the surface of Eridanus II, where the UNSC met stiff resistance. Well equipped and organized, the URF presented a serious threat to military forces.
Today's archival footage is of a Marine platoon on a rescue mission. A team of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, dispatched on a classified mission, found themselves pinned down by a large and determined Insurrectionist force. The Marines were called in to rescue the ODSTs and eliminate any pockets of resistance in their path.
