Description:
The M739 Squad Automatic Weapon is a gas-operated, drum-fed weapon system designed and manufactured by Misriah Armory. The M739 was first introduced in the later years of the Insurrection and is one the UNSC's latest additions to its vast arsenal of weaponry. It is used in protracted engagements where sustained or suppressive fire is necessary.
User Notes:
The M739 SAW, weighing in at approximately 21 pounds (9.6 kg), is an effective squad-based heavy suppression weapon system. It is capable of engaging a point target accurately at seven hundred meters, and is capable of suppressing an area target at a maximum of two thousand meters.
It has seen use since the Insurrection and has become a favorite of the infantry Marine. The M739 is capable of neutralizing a shielded opponent in twelve to fourteen rounds, generally estimated to overload the opponent's shields in ten to twelve rounds.
