Operation: HUMP
Operation Order
Operation Order
TASK ORGANIZATION:
GCE
1st Battalion, 12th Marines:
- Mike Company
- November Company
- Oscar Company
1. SITUATION.
a. Enemy Situation.
(1) Weather: Expected norms for this area. Temp: Lows 60-70, Highs 90-120. Humidity: High. Precipitation: Daily afternoon showers. Dual moons make for typical 50%+ illumination at night. 24 hour operations are not inhibited by weather patterns.
(2) Terrain: The Capital is on the coast, but the surrounding region is jungle covered foothills. Lots of elevation variation and thick vegetation cover.
(3) ID of forces: Largely light infantry with a compliment of a cavalry company and extensive Anti-Air capabilities.
(4) Location: Based in Capital, with most cordoned in by Army units. Specific positions to come in later FRAGOs and as found.
(5) Activity: Enemy forces are largely defending their hold on the Capital. Minor skirmishes common around cordon to test strength and readiness.
(6) Makeup: Intel suggests total forces are roughly 1 Brigade of Infantry, 1 company of tanks, and 2 companies of Air Defense Artillery. Forces are well trained, highly responsive, and well entrenched in the capital. Equipped with a full spectrum of weapons. Guerilla forces are uncounted and unknown.
(7): Course of Action: Most likely to fight with guerilla style tactics. If confronted with direct assault they are most likely to disengage and fall back to stronger positions supported by more enemy forces.
b. Friendly Situation.
(1) Operation is to cordon Insurrectionists in the city and then proceed to attack and destroy the movement before it can spread to other areas. Army forces are currently in position to continue their cordon and limit Insurrectionist movements. Overall Commander’s Intent is to reclaim the capital from Insurrectionist control and re-establish UNSC control of the planet.
(2) We will work in tandem with Planetary Defense forces already stationed on the ground. 27th CSB will piggyback onto local logistics to aid in support of MEU. 18th Armored Battalion will be held in reserve due to terrain limitations.
(3) A-Battery will be deployed at FOB Tinman to provide fire support across entire AO. CAS will be provided by 18th MAW as available.
c. Attachments and Detachments.
(1) Elements of E-Co, 91st CEB will be attached at the platoon level.
(2) 27th CSB will provide corpsmen on a platoon level.
(3) Once A-Batt is in position, FOs will be attached at the Platoon Level.
2. MISSION.
27th MEU will deploy all available assets to contain and eradicate Insurrectionist activity in the Capital via a coordinated cordon and assault with planetary defense forces currently holding their cordon.
3. EXECUTION.

(1) Maneuver.
M-Co will land and move along Patrol Route 1 (Marked PR 1 on overlay) and work through Patrol Zone 1 to aid in cordon along the eastern arc (marked ARC 1 on overlay). In PZ1 they will conduct anti-insurgency operations as intel and FRAGOs become available.
N-Co will land and move along Patrol Route 3 (marked PR 3 on overlay) and work through Patrol Zone 3 to aid in cordon along the western arc (marked ARC 3 on overlay). In PZ3 they will conduct anti-insurgency operations as intel and FRAGOs become available.

All Companies will work as QRF to neighboring patrol zones as needed and mission dictates.
(2) Fires.
Once A-BATT is in place, and the FOs have been attached to their respective units, priority of fire will be as follows:
- HVTs in Patrol Zones
- HVTs in Range
- Urgent Fire missions in Range
