0815 Hours, August 4, 2542 (MILITARY CALENDAR) \
Berthing Area, B-Deck, aboard UNSC Vengeance,
in slipspace en route to Zeta-Zorata System
Tom had made his way back to their berths after they'd had breakfast and he'd managed to grab come chewing gum, he was going to try and give his smoking the flick, he was sure it wouldn't hold it was a bad habit he'd picked up from the marines that had been responsible for saving his life from the covenant, he managed to get through boot without it but he'd taken it up again once he'd been assigned to his first unit he'd picked it up again and hadn't been able to stop, it wasn't something he was proud of but everyone had to have their vices. He'd also helped a particularly stuck naval crewman with a malfunctioning door, it was amazing what you did and didn't forget sometimes, luckily for both of them it was fixed before the young ET had to tell his chief he hadn't finished.
The morning so far had been waking up from cryo and briefly meeting their new fire team leader, now it was time for the longer and usually louder, though he'd also learned Corporal Faust had a thing for yelling in his brief time, not that he was worried he was here to do his job, eliminate the enemy and most importantly to him hopefully not die in the process, not that he was confidant in that, he'd gotten off pretty light during his war so far, hopefully he'd get lucky and only get minorly injured every now and then avoiding the bigger more deadly kind of injuries.
He entered first squad's berth paying the necessary respects as he made his way to second teams racks, it was time for the proper introductions to begin.
