Personality Profile:
A non practical joker and often verbal boundary pusher Erik was one of the Lucky ones, His early childhood was spent playing in the short mild summer and deep winter snows of Northern Norway, he made lots of friends and usually got along with everyone. He didn't go out to try and make enemies.
Sorensen's teenage years were full mainly of the usual fights and girl chasing, he was also one to always try (and sometimes fail sometimes succeed) at lightening moods and cracking jokes. A man convinced of his own stubbornness to live, particularly after nearly being killed by a fumbled grenade, he's been known to take some risk in his more personal life and his job. He's easily trusting of most marines knowing that his and their lives lay in the balance of them being able to work together.
Eirk finds himself more at home with line marines than most of those in his battery, they usually are far from the fighting his job is to get into the fight and give the enemy a taste of high explosive death.
Physical Description:
Erik has all the more stereotypical qualities of the Nordic people, His high and tight hair cut is as standard for most marines, starting shaved at the skin to just short of maximum regulation length at the top and front. His dull green eyes often seem as if he is looking past or through most people. His build though lean is muscled enough to easily accommodate the rigors of military life, he looks almost like every other marine just a little taller and thinner. Proud of who he had become he stands straight and tall.
The main distinguishing features of Erik are Fragmentation wounds moving ins an upward diagonal direction across his the right side face starting a inch or so from the middle there is also similar scarring from the same incident onh is upper right chest, shoulder and arm. These wounds make the often warm and friendly Sorensen seem older and more frightening than he actually is.
Background Information:
One of the Lucky ones, Erik was born in Narvik to two caring and well off intellectuals, his Father had been a civil engineer and his mother a doctor He was the third of five children, two boys and three girls. He grew up spending his early years playing and learning in the sub arctic conditions of his native area, cold winters and mild short summers. His childhood was spent at school and making friends he made friends easy and didn't have many enemies.
Sorensen's teenage years prior to joining the Marines were spent preparing for what his family hoped for him a decent career on Earth or one of the Major inner colonies. His grades were good and he was good with numbers, even more so when it was able to be applied practically or physics.and he didn't get in too much trouble but there always the odd joke and out of place remark that kept him from being the perfect top to middle student, he had some character for the Son of two intellectuals. Erik's free time away from school were spent mostly chasing girls and joking around with friends.
When he turned 16 he had already decided he wanted to be a marine, but he did the right thing by his parents and squeezed the remainder of his schooling in before enlisting. During the screening process his ability with numbers was noticed however he declined their offers of attending university to become an officer and enlisted in the marines.
His training went well his taller form filled out with most of the usual bulk of a marine and he then went on to Marine Combat Training where he excelled before Reeving his fire support man training and attending the Naval Gunfire School before being assigned his first posting, C battery 2nd battalion 9th Marines. Erik was more than a capable marine able to fight the alien menace, the Covenant with Gun fire and Rifle.
After the unit he had been assigned to as a replacement was withdrawn he was Transferred to A Battery, 2nd battalion 14th Marines where he remains.
On his first planet side mission with the battery he was Assigned to Charlie Company acting as one of it's FOs when during a fairly pitched firefight one of his fellow marine fumbled a grenade, Sorensen was spare most of the devices power and wrath however the right side of his face and upper right body were scarred from the incident, giving him his current look.
He has continued to do his job and do it well in their engagements since.
