Hello, and welcome all!
It is my pleasure to officially announce that the long (some might say too long) hiatus of The Oscar Company RPG has come to an end. We're reopening! Rejoice!
For those of you returning, make sure you make a post in the General Board in either the General Chat or the new thread created by Flannigan to announce your triumphant return to our lovely little corner of the internet. We would like to ascertain an accurate headcount of who we have going into this new chapter of our RPG's history.
We expect to get RP back up and going within the next couple weeks. There will be some changes to the boards to get ourselves back on track. Firstly, via time-skip, we are going to fast forward to post Operation: HUMP. We will start back on Reach, just days before we deploy to the Inner Colonies to take the fight to the Covenant.
The current threads from our previous op will be archived and the board replaced by our planetary locations. The Story So Far thread will be updated to cover what happened on Melfa so that you all can reference any significant events in your posts.
Finally, in reopening the site, Staff positions are available for those interested. If you are interested in becoming a site Staff member, please contact a member of the standing Staff to get the ball rolling. Please note that all members start off as Moderators in the Minor Staff group. You will not have administrative privileges straight out of the gate.
As Staff you will have access to the Admin Shop, where you can assist us in storyboarding future operations, discuss changes / edits to the site and its rules, and more. You will be expected to maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with the membership in an official capacity, and ensure the rules of our RPG are upheld.
Staff positions are granted by appointment only. The standing Staff will vote on those whom indicate an interest in ascending to site staff, and if the majority votes in your favor, you will officially be brought in as Staff and be listed as an official site staff member in Essential Information, along with your specific duties and responsibilities.
Any attempt to circumvent the standing process of promotion will result in disqualification. We ask that you be patient as we discuss your potential for promotion to Staff and await our answer. If you have any questions regarding the Staff and their responsibilities, or would like to toss your name in the pot for Staff-ship, please feel free to contact myself or Flannigan. We're happy to answer any questions you may have, and also happy to see who out of our awesome bunch are interested in ascending to the position of The Powers That Be.
