M90 CAWS Mk. I Weapon Overview: Range: Low [100 Meters with any effect] Accuracy: Low Power: High at Close Range, Diminishes at Farther Range [Soellkraft 8 Gauge Shell] Rate of Fire: Extremely Slow [Pump Action] Ammunition: Low [12 Rounds] Description: The M90 Shotgun is a pump-action magazine-fed, dual tubular non-detachable type weapon. The Weapon System Technologies DTM series shotgun is the most common shotgun employed by both UNSC Special Forces, law enforcement agencies, and sportsmen alike. The M90 has been in service for over 27 years and its design has changed very little, the M90’s immense stopping power, ease of use, and reduced capacity for puncturing the hulls of spacecraft over many other UNSC weapon systems with standard 0000 ammunition are greatly appreciated. The M90 is often employed in urban conditions, where the tight spaces are conducive to the shotgun's wide spray for defensive purposes and CQB combat. The military issued DTM series comes standard with an adjustable stock and pistol grip - although there are different models like the WST DTM/LE model which has a solid stock and no pistol grip. The DTM series of shotguns are available in 20-Gauge and 10-Gauge for the civilian market; the 8-gauge is only sold to law enforcement and military agencies. The M90 Mk I can hold 12 shells. It has the longest and most realistic effective range of all the three models, and its fifteen tungsten pellets can kill, weaken or injure targets at short to medium ranges. Although it is more likely to kill a closer ranged enemy as the shotgun is weak on further distanced enemies, the shotgun can also kill nearly any infantry target at point blank range. It even has the capabilities to take on lightly armored vehicles, such as the Ghost, with some effect. User Notes: The M90 Mark I is generally decided to be the "best" of the variations of the weapon. It tends remain the most accurate at longer ranges due to a minimal spread, and has a large capacity when compared to other shotgun variations.

M90 CAWS Mk. II Weapon Overview: Range: Low [30 Meters with any effect] Accuracy: Low Power: High at Close Range, Diminishes at Farther Range [Soellkraft 8 Gauge Shell] Rate of Fire: Extremely Slow [Pump Action] Ammunition: Low [12 Rounds] Description: The M90 Shotgun is a pump-action magazine-fed, dual tubular non-detachable type weapon. The DTM series of shotguns are available in 20-Gauge and 10-Gauge for the civilian market; the 8-gauge is only sold to law enforcement and military agencies. The M90 Mk II changed significantly from the Mk I. The only difference in appearance with this model is the green Iron Sights instead of blue and the stock's shape. Its performance is also drastically different as it has drastically reduced range. Unlike the previous version, it has almost no stopping power when used against vehicles. User Notes: The M90 Mark II tends to have the least accuracy at a range due to a wider spread. It does, however, have a high capacity for a shotgun, and seems to be capable of being racked more easily-- And therefore can be fired more quickly-- than others.

M90A CAWS Weapon Overview: Range: Low [40 Meters with any effect] Accuracy: Low Power: High at Close Range, Diminishes at Farther Range [Soellkraft 8 Gauge Shell] Rate of Fire: Extremely Slow [Pump Action] Ammunition: Very Low [6 Rounds] Description: The M90 Shotgun is a pump-action magazine-fed, dual tubular non-detachable type weapon. The DTM series of shotguns are available in 20-Gauge and 10-Gauge for the civilian market; the 8-gauge is only sold to law enforcement and military agencies. The M90A has a variety of graphical and functional changes from the previous models. The blue iron-sights have been reintroduced, it has a longer barrel and the flashlight is now mounted on the side. Unlike the older models which had a 12 shell magazine, the M90A only has a 6 shell magazine. Its effective range is slightly greater than the M90 Mk II. User Notes: The M90A is not quite as great as the Mark I, according to most people, but it is more effective than the Mark II at a range, though not quite as much as the Mark I. It does, however, only carry half the capacity as the other shotguns, something that could be considered a major drawback.

M45 Tactical Shotgun Weapon Overview: Range: Low [40 Meters with any effect] Accuracy: Low Power: High at Close Range, Diminishes at Farther Range [Soellkraft 8 Gauge Shell] Rate of Fire: Extremely Slow [Pump Action] Ammunition: Very Low [6 Rounds] Description: The M45 is the most widely used shotgun in service with the UNSC Defense Force, being more common than the M90 Close Assault Weapon System. It was used throughout the Insurrection and later the Human-Covenant War. The M45 is used during most close-combat scenarios, particularly in urban areas with heavy enemy occupation. The M45 Tactical Shotgun is a special-purpose weapon used in any situation where the range of engagement is limited and when over-penetration is not desirable, but maximum stopping power is required. Like the functionally identical M90A Close Assault Weapon System, the M45 is a pump-action, magazine-fed (dual tubular, non-detachable type) weapon that uses 8 gauge magnum (3.75”) ammunition User Notes: The M45 is basically the exact same, functionally, as the M90A. It does seem to be slightly better at a range than the M90A, but is, overall different mostly aesthetically. However, the rail mounts allow for a wider variety of attachments to be added to it.
