Hello all,
Are you new to the site? If so, introduce yourself to the community and welcome aboard Halo: Oscar Company RPG!
All you have to do is say hi and tell us a little bit about yourself. Don't worry, we're very friendly. And since I'd never ask someone to do something I wouldn't be personally willing to do, I'll tell you all a little about myself.
You can call me Cartwright or Ward. I'm the head administrator here at Halo: Oscar Company RPG. I am twenty-one years old and started role-playing officially in 2004. I originally role-played on the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies and started text-based and forum role-play in early 2007.
Halo is by far my favorite video game universe (Mass Effect had it beat for awhile, then the "Starchild" ruined it). I enjoy it because it's very expansive, and there is a lot of room to establish a decent role-play in the universe. Sometimes people forget there was a war going on before Halo: CE's storyline.
Anyway, that's me. If you'd like to know more about me, go ahead and ask. I'm an open book, and I'll answer any questions you might have. I can't wait to meet all of you and get to know you.
Sincerely,
Durant, M.

(I hope I'm posting this in the right place lol) Hey Everyone, My name is Marcus Mendonca-mota, but online or generally anywhere else, I'm known as Marcus Redfeild. I know the last name is spelled wrong but that's the point...Anyway, I'm sixteen years old. I write stories, make videos on youtube, and I've been role-playing since around 2008, so around Ten or Eleven years old. I got into more serious RP with my friends at around 2010, and now I just do it for fun. As a gamer, I've played MANY games. However, the ones that I think I've gotten fully enveloped in the most are The Walking Dead game and The Mass Effect Trilogy. Despite the horrible ending caused but the so-called "god child" Mass Effect was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had and Bioware, to me at least, fixed the ending with the extended cut. As for The Walking Dead, well, I just haven't cried so much over video game in my entire life lol. So yeah, there you go! Any questions, comments, concerns, let me know and I will gladly answer you

Hey, Marcus! Sorry for the late response. My phone has been deactivated since the weekend before Christmas. Happy holidays! Hope they went well for you. I will have my phone reactivated tomorrow, so my activity'll be back to normal. I hope people don't think we're an inactive site lol. Anyway, welcome to the site! Mass Effect was an awesome game series, but the third one kind of killed it for me. I never had the opportunity to play The Walking Dead game. How is it? I've always wanted to try it. Though, with my Xbox being shot and lack of internet at home (besides a phone), that's probably not gonna happen. I also fondly remember the times we RP'd on Reach. Those were fun times. I can't wait to see the character you create.

Hello all,
I'll keep this brief since I gotta get some stuff done soon.
I've been married for 4 years, have three children, and am 25 years old. I started rping 11 years ago on the Matrix Online forums. I've started over 10 different rping forums (mostly proboards and 3 domains).
You can call me Ace or just "Mason".
Look forward to rping with you all.

Welcome, Mason! I'm glad you've chosen our RPG as your Halo RP home. You role-played on the Matrix Online forums? I'd tried playing the Matrix Online a few years ago but never really got into it. I only did the free trial. It didn't seem like the kind of game I was interested in (admittedly, Star Wars Galaxies kind of corrupted me. And PlanetSide). Congratulations with the marriage and children. We should be launching the first mission in a couple of days. So you won't have to wait very long to jump in and start fulfilling your RP cravings. It'll start with us awakening on the Vengeance from cryo. I won't divulge anymore, however. You'll just have to wait and see what we have in store for you.

Hi, was looking at your forum, long time Halo fan, was wondering, after joining, how do I go about making a character here? Is there a form or guideline I can follow? I don't want to screw it up. ;p

Hello there, Leo! Welcome to the RPG. I can definitely help you. Once you've registered you'll first need to read the rules of the site. Afterwards, visit the Recruitment Center. You'll have to review the rules for submitting a character application and then check out the application itself. There are two posts in the CSV (character application) thread. The first is a breakdown of the application. The second one is the code you'll need to copy and paste into the thread you'll be creating and posting (the subject being the name of your character). You'll then need to fill out the application and post it. Once that's done, all you gotta do is wait for us to review the application to make sure it's up to snuff and then we'll accept it if it is. I hope to be RPing with you soon. EDIT: Oh, and I'd check out the Technical Information & Publications area when you get the chance. It's full of detailed information that'll end up being invaluable to you in the future as you RP your character.

Hey guys and gals, Call me Grace if you want I have had a lot of experience rping on various sites of various formats. You name it chances are I've rped on it. So that said and done, I've been a massive halo fan most of my life, rped it several times over the past years though I am really looking forward to rping it as a marine who is actually part of a well organised squad. I am at uni so I won't be on all of the time as the ebb and flow of my work load varies but I will try to be active as much as possible for rping is my way to relax, I'm 18 soon to be 19 so yeah that's me. Now... Any questions?

Welcome to the RPG, Grace! I'm Durant, the administrator for the site. What kinds of sites have you RP'd on aside from Halo? Also, have you ever been a part of the Yappa's Halo RPG? I just happen to be curious. As for being at Uni and all that, no worries. We understand that real life takes precedence, and, if you ever need to disappear for a little while, simply let us know in the announcements section. The Staff here are very understanding. Fenris, or Cruz as most will know him, works multiple jobs to pay the bills so he's generally very busy. Unlike some admin we won't be breathing down everyone's throats if it takes people a little while to post. This isn't to say we won't start to aggravated after a reasonable amount of time has passed, but we won't hound people either. The purpose behind this RP is to have fun - it's a hobby, not a job - so we won't treat it like one. If I happen to not be on when your birthday rolls around then happy early birthday! Finally, if you have any questions regarding the RP or with a post you're developing, you can always PM a member of the Staff. We're always happy to lend a helping hand.

Thanks and well time for a deep breath here as I list my rps in the past I've rped on mass effect, gears of war, star wars, warhammer 40k, fantasy, demons and angels, mortal instruments, warrior cats, Armageddon, humans vs demons, half bloods, metro, transformers and zombie. Those are all of the ones I can think of atm off of the top of my head. Thank you for the early birthday message. I have one question for the rp, is there a posting order and you have to wait till it is your turn to post? Some sites have this and others don't so I am curious as to if there is one for this site.

The only posting stipulation I personally have is let everyone get there first post up the go hog wild.
Durant, you got any stipulations on this topic?

There is no posting order as far as I am concerned. Essentially, during intermissions and pre-ops, everyone can go wild. However, during missions, everyone has to wait for my GM posts. Everyone makes a post after one of my GM posts, thrn they wait for the next GM post. Cruz can also GM in some circumstances. Generally, the thread creator is the GM. So, right now, anybody can make a post since I've already made a GM post. Once everyone has posted at least once, I write up another post that acts as a GM post and I move things forward. I prefer people only post once and then wait for at least three others, that way the threads don't cluttered up by two people. But, there is no rule against it. So, in other words we're fairly lax when it comes to that sort of thing. We're strict with some things, lenient with others. This is one of the things we're lenient with.

Time for the old guy to show up. I'm 30 years old, third kid will be here any day now. Never played much Halo (I'm a computer gamer) but I've love every bit of it I played.
RPed for a long time now. Close to fifteen years I think. Rodgin Kemph, for most of my online iterations. Actually wrote a story with Davis as an Army Platoon Sergeant, in case you were wondering where the idea came from.
Now to the part that made me have to stay. I served 9 years in the Army Guard and Reserve. Spent 2 of that overseas. You guys seem to be quire accurate with your military stuff, and I'm excited to see how this plays out.

Welcome aboard, Davis! First and foremost, I'd like to thank you for your service. You might be surprised to hear that so far the bulk of our Veteran military personnel here hail from the Army. Both Mason and Cruz are former Army like yourself. Admittedly, I'm a nasty civvie whose Marine bound. Most people know me as the walking Marine Corps dictionary. I did a lot of studying of the Marines and their culture in my younger years. I'm glad to see that our realism and authenticity is what hooked you. I've seen too many RPs out there that don't... get it right, I suppose is the right phrase. I personally cringe every time I see an RP where they find it acceptable to call NCOs "sir." I wanted Oscar Company to be different, yet fun at the same time. Anyway, I'm very glad that you're here. We love seeing new people as recruitment has been kind of slow. I suppose there's not a very large market for Halo RPGs. I can't wait to RP with you. I play Furby, Stone, and the El-Tee. So, I'm a pretty busy guy on here lol. Anyway, again, welcome aboard and thanks for your service.
